"Upon the sea and upon the earth." Revelation 10:5. The book of Daniel was to be opened in an area occupied by many nations, and also in a sparsely-populated land.
In 1800 Daniel was a closed book. In 1812 the study of prophecy began in England. It soon took hold throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa. Soon more than a hundred writers from a wide variety of denominations were interpreting Bible prophecy. Loosed by the hand of the prophetic clock, scores of men, representing over a dozen nations on four different continents, independently and simultaneously began predicting the fulfillment of the 2300-day prophecy.

In the united States, the most noted expositor of Daniel 8:14 was a Baptist, William Miller. He and 43 ministers of 13 denominations unleashed perhaps the greatest prophetic awakening in American history. By a through study of the 2300-day prophecy, they discovered that the 2300-days would expire on October 22, 1844.

In the Light of God's Word...

  • I understand that the Old Testament sanctuary services illustrated Christ's work in the plan of salvation.
  • I understand, that, just as the Old Testament Passover service illustrated Christ's sacrifice on the cross, so the old "Day of Atonement" illustrated the great atonement our High Priest is now making for us in the heavenly sanctuary.

Next Lesson: The Cleansing of the Sanctuary

1 comment:

  1. Alexander the Great defeats Darius III at the river Granicus in May of 334 BC. Exactly 2300 Passovers occur to June of 1967. The 6 day war when Israel recaptures Jerusalem. The Adventist church cannot claim fulfillment of the 2300 days based on failed interpretation.

    Who was Daniel 8 talking about? Alexander the Great. But 1967 was only a sign that the sanctuary (Temple) was about to be cleansed and it has nothing to do with physical Israel and a new temple in Jerusalem. The temple is the Word of God and it has been defiled. The body of Christ is the Word. The Word is in us. John 6 - "Unless you [eat my flesh] you have no life in you." Jesus became sin; the Word became sin.....Parts of the Word were half circumcised or turned to there opposite meaning making God appear evil and merciless. How else do you think Christians are fooled into thinking a merciful God will cause most to suffer for eternity? Because of words on a page. The bible told us to jump off a high bridge and we surely did.

    Do the math:

    Mercy = Eternal suffering?

    Good news = Most will be lost?

    The staff Moses cast to the ground was a writing utensil and the serpent beguiled us....

    Eternal suffering alive in hell is the abomination that makes the sacrifice of Christ desolate and worthless. Spoken of by Daniel 3:1-6

    MYSTERY BABYLON is the church and the false image of God that has been erected.
